About Executive Coaching

About Executive Coaching
Executive Coaching

The focus of Executive Coaching is usually about one's personal contribution to organizational performance or development. The coach accelerates the Executive's progress by providing greater focus and awareness of possibilities leading to more effective choices. Coaching concentrates on where the leader is now, and what he/she is willing to do to get where he/she wants to be in the future. The coaching focuses on the leader's personal and organizational life as it relates to goal setting, outcome creation and personal change management.

Examples of the kind of focus for Executive Coaching are:
 * Leadership style * Planning   * Performance problems
 * Implementation challenges * Career Development * Inter-personal relationships
 * Acting as a sounding board * Interview techniques * Change management
Some of the ways that a coach can support an Executive are:
  • Heightening self-awareness and learning in order to take action
  • Addressing breakdowns and blocks to achieving personal and organizational results
  • Assisting leaders in seeing patterns and interactions and their meaning
  • Looking at system issues and those of organizational alignment
  • Determining how to manage change
  • Working with resistance in both the client and the system
  • Supporting communication, decision making and conflict management skills

About Team Coaching

About Team Coaching
Team Coaching

As an Executive can you see the potential of achieving great things for your organization get thwarted by obstacles on an everyday basis? Making progress can be slow and frustrating when you have to be involved in solving every problem.

Many of these obstacles are inevitable side effects of life in large organisations. They can trap team leaders and their board team into a continuing and uninspiring yearly round of small increases in targets – and slogging through the organizational mire to reach them. Even if you reach them, nothing really changes, next year’s goals are set just a little higher and it doesn’t get any easier to reach them.

Stop this vicious circle. Break out of this pattern and make an exponential difference to your organisation and its market. And do so in a way that makes you excited about your work again, gives you confidence that you are in control of your future, and all within the ordinary working week.

We have achieved these sorts of results over the years in our Executive Team Workshops, where a 'zero base' approach focusing on action-centred leadership is the driving force. Talk to us about your issues and we can plan a session specifically designed to fit your needs and achieve your goals.

We can do this at your premises, or off-site - away from the daily fire-fighting that brought us together in the first place.  Act now.

What People Say

Life Coaching - I was faced with increasing demands from work, due to a recent relocation, stress from home, where our first child had just arrived and the financial stress and strain of a bigger mortgage and increased outgoings. W5 was able to get me thinking straight, calming down, assessing my priorities and working on them methodically. Very quickly we as a family became more relaxed in the knowledge that everything was being addressed. Work became easier with better planning and smart thinking. W5 helped us enormously and things are going really smoothly again."

JDDesign Engineer

Executive Coaching - I have known Dr Morgan of W5 for a very long time, at one time we were work colleagues. When he became an Executive Coach, I had no hesitation in engaging him to work with all my Senior Executives on a one to one basis in order to improve their performance and that of our company. This relationship has endured over many years in a number of different companies as my own career has developed. He has worked on problems like the move from functional to general management, succession planning, new job acclimatization, merger and takeover planning, skills gaps and many other issues. I would unhesitatingly recommend his work as being of a consistently high standard over a great many years."

EJLVariously CEO and Executive Chairman

Team Coaching - Dr Morgan of W5 coached our Executive Board, as a group, over a period of more than a year. Initially, he was engaged to help us deal with an unwanted aggressive takeover issue, which was an unqualified success. Then he helped us in a concerted plan for profit improvement in order to maximize the value of the family company with a future, more managed and more profitable, takeover in mind. This process exceeded our highest expectations. Thanks to his Executive Coaching, we were introduced to management techniques that enabled us to grow our business, yet cut our relative cost levels, and increase profits by more than 100% in the time that he was with us. This enabled us subsequently to achieve a company value of more than twice the original takeover offer."

What happens if I am unable to attend a session?

If you are unable to attend a session, for whatever reason, I will endeavour to offer you another session in the same week.  However, this is subject to availability and a minimum of 24 hours notice is required.  Otherwise, the session fee is payable.

Is Coaching confidential?

Coaching is completely confidential.  All professionals, regardless of their profession, recognize client confidentiality.  This is needed to protect the client and to improve the ability of, in this case, the coach, to give a personalized service.  Even during my own supervision, client anonymity is guaranteed.  I adhere to the ethical guidelines of my professional Association - the European Mentoring and Coaching Council - as embodied in its 'Global Code of Ethics'

What is the length of each session?

Each session lasts for 50 minutes; the 'therapeutic hour', which allows for reflection and note-taking after the client has left and immediately before the next one arrives.

How many coaching sessions will I need?

This very much depends on the issue(s) you bring to the coaching space.  In terms of Life Coaching, I would plan for six sessions at fortnightly intervals, to allow our discussions to be taken on board and implemented into your routine.  The same principle applies to Executive Coaching, but those issues can sometimes be much more complex and involve a lot more stakeholders, necessitating longer.  In the first session we would map out a plan and estimate the number of sessions required to implement it, so that we both know where we are going.
